FROMMER’S REVIEW:
For years Ellie ran the popular Koloa Landing Cottages, then in 2007, she sold that business and renovated an old plantation house in the heart of Koloa. This two-bedroom/two-bathroom home, surrounded by tropical gardens, is for the traveler who wants a “real” Hawaii experience living in a residential area, like a local resident.
Ellie, who has a terrific eye for color and design has taken this plain-Jane house and converted it into a whimsical tropical cottage — perfect for a family. Entry is through a plant-filled, outdoor lanai, where you will find you will spend all your time — just like Hawaii residents.
The house (with full kitchen) has antique furniture recovered in old Hawaiian print fabric, with paddle fans to keep the house cool, TV, washer and dryer, barbecue, and everything you can think of to make your vacation. Just a mile and a half to the beach and walking distance to Koloa town’s shops and restaurants.

Relax in this lovely 2 bedroom Hawaiiana style house located in the heart of historic Old Koloa Town. Ellie’s Koloa House just a 5-minute stroll to quaint shops and restaurants and only a few minutes drive to Poipu Beach Park or Shipwreck Beach.
Poipu Beach is famous for its sunny, mild weather and features some of the best snorkeling and swimming on the island. There are wonderful restaurants, boutique shopping and 2 golf courses in the Poipu area.
The charming Poipu Shopping Village with its art galleries, restaurants and grocery store is minutes away. The immediate area offers something for everyone including walks on Poipu Beach, romantic sunset sails, helicopter adventures, Hawaiian luaus, snorkel cruises, horseback riding, hiking, surfing, scuba diving, zip-line adventures, hang gliding, golfing and more.

What a wonderful time we had on Kauai. Staying here at Ellie’s Koloa House was perfect. We walked up to quaint Koloa town several times for fresh fish, Lappert’s coffee/ice cream, meals out and strolled in and out of art galleries. Great location so close to Poipu Beach yet just far enough away form the hustle and bustle of resort central. We will recommend this rental to our friends at home and hope to return next fall.

Ellie’s Koloa House boasts a beautiful seasonal tropical garden of plumeria, hibiscus, banana, papaya, ginger, ti, heliconia, avocado, lychee and assortment of palms. There is an outside covered lanai perfect for dining or relaxing.
This is our fourth glorious day at Ellie’s Koloa house and we’ve discovered a home away from home. We are delighted, as this place has exceeded all expectations. Unfortunately, we have only two more days until returning home. We’ll be saving our “pennies” so we can come back soon. Mahalo Ellie.

Where is Ellie’s Availability Calendar?
Ellie’s Koloa House books up very quickly throughout the year and it is ALWAYS worth a shot to see if her House is open during your vacation timeframe. Ellie is very connected in the Poipu area and if her Koloa House is booked, she knows of many other affordable properties that you may be interested in for your Kauai visit.
Kauai is a wonderful world. So much beauty… people, beaches, fishes, mountains, canyon, trails, falls, lookouts, and Ellie’s Koloa house. Many thanks ciao!

Ellie’s Koloa House Rental Policy
Minimum Stay: 4 nights. Longer stays are highly recommended.
Reservations: Use Ellie’s convenient RESERVATION REQUEST FORM, phone her toll free 1-800-779-8773 or send her an e-mail to infokoloalanding@aol.com to inquire about available dates. Courtesy reservations can be held for 2 days by your phone or e-mail request.
Deposit: Once a reservation is made, a $250 deposit is required to confirm your booking. Ellie allows a 7-10 day period to receive your deposit in order to hold your reservation. This deposit gets subtracted from your total bill. Please phone or e-mail to confirm availability before mailing your deposit.

Occupancy: Limited to confirmed guests. Not sure about who’s all coming? No problem. Your confirmation can be updated any time.
Payment: The balance is due upon arrival in the form of cash or traveler checks.
Cancellations: Must be in writing or e-mail. Deposits and payments are fully refundable less a $50 cancellation fee if cancellation is made at least 90 days prior to your planned arrival. Cancellation notification of less than 90 days may result in forfeiture of your deposit. There will be no forfeiture if Ellie is able to re-rent to another party for the period affected by your cancellation.
