I’m Ellie and I have been providing affordable Kauai vacation rentals near Poipu Beach for the past 12 years.
Poipu Beach is famous for its sunny, mild weather and features some of the best snorkeling and swimming on the island.
There are wonderful restaurants, boutique shopping and 2 golf courses in the Poipu area.
Each of my vacation rentals is unique and each is nestled into local neighborhoods.
ELLIE’S KOLOA HOUSE
I invite you and your family to relax in my lovely Koloa vacation home, a 2 bedroom, 2 bath Hawaiiana style house located in the heart of historic Old Koloa Town. Ellie’s Koloa House is a 5-minute stroll to quaint shops and restaurants and only a few minutes drive to Poipu Beach Park or Shipwreck Beach. ELLIE’S POIPU BAMBOO STUDIO
If you are a couple or a single looking for an affordable and cozy accommodation, I offer my Poipu Bamboo Studio with queen bed, full kitchen and bath.
Ellie’s Poipu Bamboo Studio is a 10-minute walk to Poipu Beach in one direction and the Grand Hyatt Regency in the other.
After you enjoy the local beaches, shopping and golf, kick back on the patio and enjoy some fresh, local seafood on the BBQ. find out more
ELLIE’S POIPU GARDEN SUITE
My Garden Suite is the perfect getaway spot for one or two if you are looking for a sweet place to come home to after a long day of play.
Enjoy the garden patio while relaxing to the soft trickle of the water garden. The inviting Garden Suite features a separate bedroom with queen size bed and a quaint sitting area that offers a convenience kitchen for quick and easy meal preparation.
The charming Poipu Shopping Village with its art galleries, restaurants and grocery store is minutes away. find out more
The immediate area offers something for everyone including walks on Poipu Beach, 2 golf courses, romantic sunset sails, helicopter adventures, Hawaiian luaus, snorkel cruises, horseback riding, hiking, surfing, scuba diving, zip-line adventures, hang gliding, and more.
Ellie’s Vacation Rentals are conveniently located for exploring all of Kauai’s spectacular scenic wonders, beaches and numerous activities. Waimea Canyon is just 45 minutes to the west and the gorgeous North Shore is within an hour drive.

For years Ellie ran the popular Koloa Landing Cottages, then in 2007, she sold that business and renovated an old plantation house in the heart of Koloa. This two-bedroom/two-bathroom home, surrounded by tropical gardens, is for the traveler who wants a “real” Hawaii experience living in a residential area, like a local resident.
Ellie, who has a terrific eye for color and design has taken this plain-Jane house and converted it into a whimsical tropical cottage — perfect for a family. Entry is through a plant-filled, outdoor lanai, where you will find you will spend all your time — just like Hawaii residents.
The house (with full kitchen) has antique furniture recovered in old Hawaiian print fabric, with paddle fans to keep the house cool, TV, washer and dryer, barbecue, and everything you can think of to make your vacation. Just a mile and a half to the beach and walking distance to Koloa town’s shops and restaurants.
